Our restaurant in the Corn Exchange can also be used as a function room. We can cater for parties, celebrations, social events and business meetings.

History of the Corn Exchange

During the reign of George III, the Fleur de Lis became the coaching office for Sandwich, coaches could be booked for travel to Dover Canterbury or Ramsgate.

It was around this time the Corn Market came to be held at the Fleur.

Every Wednesday farmers would meet to sell their corn, barter and haggle over prices. As a guide the base prices were displayed on a board inside the inn.

The paneled walls of the exchange are double doors that opened into private negotiating booths.
